Ahem...

I have decided to accept a job.

It's been a long quarter (and not really over yet until 9ish tonight), but after all the suits and wasting time, i've chosen what I'm going to do.

I'll stop being dramatic, actually it's pretty damn cool. I'm going to be in the GE FMP rotational program with NBC Universal in Manhattan (or LA, but I want to by in NY more). It's a sweet deal and i'll elaborate on it soon.

So... I think I need a new blog or something. Check back early next year... The digital busker is changing and will be updating more and more...

and... cue the dramatic music, or download some laura veirs for the holidays and chill...

It seems that when I talk about interview stuff I get more hits. I think it's because everyone has a blog about music or pop culture, so I think i'm going to redesign this blog. I'm going to talk about what I want to talk about rather than trying to get people to view this blog and think it's cool. I get more people on here when I'm just writing about stuff thats unique to me... hmmmm.

So I'm going to take the next few days and redesign the site asthetically and structureally. It needs it. I think i'm going to make my posts more uniform in structure: start with a "song of the day" concept that will set the tone for the post, then an actual piece of writing about something cool, I promise...

Quick Job update: I still have the JNJ offer on the table, i'm flying to NYC to be at the final round of interviews for NBC a week from today, and Accenture wants to interview me the monday after Thanksgiving, but that one seems like my least favorite. I think it's either going to be the FLDP program at Johnson and Johnson or the FMP program at GE/NBCUniversal. Northeast here I come...

So it's been a week since I've posted, but it's been a busy week. Don't worry, i've got some good stuff...

Last night I saw Bon Jovi (it's alright to laugh) but it wasn't that bad. It was a hair band that keeps updating its style without changing its music. Whatever, he's from Jersey, and I might be living there very soon.

Bono and Brandon Flowers from the Killers. It was this past weekend? Man i'm behing the blogging times...

The Killers go into the studio in January to record the followup to Hot Fuss. Brandon says: "We have too many. If we could make another record like the first one, then I think it would be successful. But I want to get a producer who will mess with the parts, somebody with different ideas on how to arrange it. We've already proven that we can write a perfect pop song, but I admire bands like the Talking Heads for having hits that are still pop and rock, but out of the norm." I dunno, I found that on some other bloggers website.

Also, I got the job offer to Johnson and Johnson in NJ (near NYC, but far enough away that there are trees, and I need to decide by the 14th), I did't get the iBank (although they called me to say that they were sorry?!?), I am waiting on the 2nd round for GE's FMP program, and 2nd round for Accenture. It's tough to motivate myself to interview when I already have an awesome offer, but i'm waiting to see my options. Alright enough "real world" stuff, let me go find you some music or movies or celeb. gossip or something cool...

Here's Oranger's MySpace site, with a few tracks on it from the new album. I first heard about this band from somafm (awesome streaming radio) and have been listening to this indie-pop band for a while. Reminds me of Spoon without the piano and a little more stoned.

And now for... Interview BloG! or atleast that's what it's turning into...

So Johnson and Johnson went well (I think). Send me an email if you want details about the 2 group interviews and the 3 back-to-back-to-back behavioral/fit/technical interviews. Met some cool kids there, whatever, they all were competition anyways. It was a fun/tiring day. I don't really want to "review" the interview, but i'll let you know how it turns out.

Also, I have an interview with that iBank from Cleveland today, Monday, 2nd round with JPMorgan (after I thought I bombed the phone interview), Tuesday, interview with GE FMP, Wednesday, interview with Accenture, Next Tuesday, interview with Capital One, and next Wednesday interview with Epic systems (i'd link them all but i'm lazy today).

Lastly, doesn't this site need a new look already? Don't worry, it's coming... but for now, like the smaller font?

Just got back from Jersey from the Johnson and Johnson interview, and saw that Imogen Heap played Morning Becomes Eclectic (KCRW) yesterday. Awesome performance, but her voice is a little flat at times (makes the performance more genuine?). Watch the video, it's one of the better video's on the site.

sufjan wants plastic surgery?

On tonight's episode of nip tuck, Sufjan Stevens' creepy acoustic homage to an illinoise killer played during an equally creepy incest frankenstein scene: John Wayne Gacy, Jr. The music was perfect. I'm studying so i'll write more about it later.

Just, and I mean just, finished watching Green Street Hooligans. I'm on an indie kick right now, which might be because i'm a little stressed, but just read the bloody review...

This movie out fights fightclub, out crashes crash, or even out richies Guy Richie (sidenote: I hate madonna's fake accent). This movie feels like Train Spotting, but it's more manly than that, and you don't want to shoot up afterwards, instead you want to sing pub cheers, get into a fight, save your family, and do it all in time to grab a pint.

The story is simple: Boy goes to Harvard, Boy gets kicked out of harvard from loser roomate who hid coke in boy's closet, boy takes fall to avoid embarassment of roomates prestigeous family, and he's off to england. It's here where the cliche sebatical, or "break" as american's call it begins.

Matt, the boy played by Elija Wood, is the perfect wus (and I hate to say that I empathize). He's never gotten into a fight, let alone into a brawl. He escapes to London to visit his sister (the girl from Mallrats), who's escaped to live with her Brittish husband after her mother died. The husband's brother babysits Matt and brings him into the world of Football Firms. Matt soon joins the GSE, or Green Street Hooligans, and a few twists later we are at some of the bloodiest fight scenes since braveheart and a great family conflict.

I hate to say it, but it's the raw footage of the choregraphed (?) fights that makes this an awesome flick. The blood flows so much, that you cheer when you should be wincing, and wince when you should be cheering, and a certain bottly to the throat will make anybody feel pain. This is definately a movie for guys (I pity any guy who tries to make any woman watch this). It's rough, but one of the grittiest "boy grows up due to foreign circumstances" movies I'm seen in a while.

Also, these Firms are real... "bloody" real. Check out this BBC documentary.

By the way, the title is from the song they sing.... watch the movie...

work update

Alright, on this rainy friday morning, i'm starting this thing up again with a depressing (see: delaying the real world) post about where I am with my Job search. It's rough, and long. Are seniors supposed to be like this during their last moments experienceing college? Hell no, but we do it anyway... atleast I feel like i've been balancing work searching / school / friends / girlfriend / other all together. Whatever. Here's whats up:

2 midterms next week, 1 of which I had to move earlier in order to get on a plane for...
the Johnson and Johnson's second round of interviews for their FLDP program in New Jersey (see: where my parents are from, turnpike on right, soproanos). It's going to be great, and it seems that all of the little honors accounting kids are going too. I love kicking their ass in interviews... we'll see
Friday I have to work and then interview for a cleveland based iBank BGL...
then on tuesday I have an interview with GE's FMP program and an info session with Accenture to become a consultant (which i'm really excited for).
other companies i'm waiting to hear from: JPMorgan, P&G, PwC, Capital One, a small tech firm in madison called Epic systems

It's too much. Well I love it, but I can't do this past thanksgiving. I need a break, and december's going to rock (see: OSU ski club, xmas, and no school).
